For anyone who has owned a vehicle there comes a point in time where you ask "what is a vehicle recall" or "what should I do if there has been a recall on my vehicle". You can find the answer to all your vehicle questions at Erin Mills Acura.
Let's start with the basics. What is a vehicle recall? Your Acura was engineered and designed to deliver an unbeatable driving experience. In order to maintain a high level of achievement, Acura Canada will periodically perform quality checks on various components of an Acura vehicle. If Acura determines a component of any sort may fall below optimal performance a recall will be issued.
How will I know when a recall is issued for my Acura?
If you are a registered Acura owner, you will receive a letter in the mail to advise you of the issued recall. The letter will include the following information; a description of the defect, how Acura Canada plans to fix the problem, and instructions regarding what you should do next.
What Should I do after I receive a recall notice?
Upon delivery of a notification detailing the recall specifics, contact Erin Mills Acura to schedule a service appointment with a qualified Acura technician where the component can be replaced or updated free of charge.
I purchased a Pre-Owned Acura. How can I check If there are any active recalls on my vehicle?
To check if there are any active recalls issued for your vehicle, you can use Acura's online VIN lookup. The VIN number is a unique 17-digit vehicle identification number recognized worldwide. Once you locate and enter your unique VIN number in the lookup a list of active recalls will appear.
